Vallisto Tannat 2018

Producer: Vallisto
Pancho Lavaque finds old, often badly neglected and remotely located vineyards in and around Cafayate, Salta ( home to some of the world's highest vineyards). Gradually he brings the vineyards back to full health, pays the growers a fair price for the grapes and makes magical, pure, fruit-driven wines with oodles with personality. From vines planted over 100 years ago, this rich, succulent Tannat is dark, almost black in colour. The nose is chocolate and liquorice and the palate is big, bold and packed with dark fruits and a finish that goes on forever. Say no more and enjoy with steak or roast beef! 14.5% and Vegan.

Luigi Tacchino Gavi di Gavi Azienda Vitivinicola 2019

Piedmont is perfect wine country as the hills provide a natural amphitheatre which protects the vineyards from the northerly winds. Today brother and sister duo Alessio and Romina run the Tacchino estate and take great care to restrict yields, meaning this Gavi di Gavi DOCG is full of citrus fruit and tropical notes with crisp acidity and a lingering finish. Typically, Gavi di Gavi should be clean and crisp with a mineral finish. This 2019 version from Azienda Tacchino goes a step further with its apple and peach aromas and notes of fresh almond and seashell on the palate. A beautiful summer time wine enjoyed as an aperitif or with herby pasta sauces like pesto or white fish. 12.5% and Vegan.

Domaine des Carabiniers Cotes du Rhone Sans Sulfite 2018

The name Carabiniers comes from when in the 14th century the region was guarded by Italian mounted guards - the Carabinieri. Magali and Fabien run the domaine today which was converted to organic viticulture in 1997 and then to biodynamic viticulture in 2009. They vinify with natural yeasts, without the use of chemicals or sulphur additions. Grapes are harvested at night to prevent oxidation and avoid the use of SO2 which keeps the freshness and protects the natural aromas of the grapes About as pure as wine can get, it is deep ruby in colour, the palate is elegant and well balanced with red fruits, spice notes and the softest of tannins. A true beauty! Best with grilled meats, mushroom risotto or cheeses. 12.5% and Biodynamic, Vegan.
