Pacifico Sur Carménère 2019

Producer: Pacifico Sur
A family run winery, these vineyards are in the Central Valley is arguably Chile’s most important wine region, housing both the capital, Santiago, and many of the country’s oldest vineyards. The Andes influence the climate of the Central Valley dramatically, providing essential water for irrigation from snowmelt and coastal fogs moderate the temperature whilst the alluvial soil is perfect for grape-growing. This Carménère gives aromas of ripe plums, berries and bramble fruit. These rich, earthy berry flavours translate onto the palate where they are supported by soft warm spice and a hint of smoke. There is fantastic depth and concentration of flavour in a full-bodied style with an intense, lingering finish. Very good with a charcuterie board, but also spicy dishes such as steak. 13.5% and Vegan.

Gravel & Loam Sauvignon Blanc 2019

A Green Cellars best seller and for good reason! This NZ Sauvignon is superb. The French call it “Terroir” but we call it “Gravel and Loam”. Deep in the Wairau Valley, the vineyard is spread over two terraces - the upper 33 hectares are certified BioGro organic and the remaining terraces are sustainable. This wine is bright with lively gooseberry aromas alongside notes of fresh herbs and grassy tones. The palate is vibrant passion fruit, citrus and peach characters with top notes of melon and kiwi. Soft apple and white pear flavours balance a well-structured wine with zesty acidity and fantastic length and elegance. Enjoy as an aperitif or with fresh, simply cooked seafood and light salads. 12.5% and Vegan, Sustainable.

Pitchfork Shiraz 2018

Michael Kerrigan, a well know Australian winemaker, likens Margaret River's climate to "Bordeaux in a perfect year". This Pitchfork represents unprecedentedly good value considering that all of the grapes are grown in Margaret River - very unusual for a wine at the entry level from this region. This Shiraz is vibrant and youthful with ripe cherry and plum fruits on the nose, with smooth chocolaty influences. The palate displays good depth of fruit concentration, ripe sweet fruit fleshiness in the mid palate and a good flavour extension on the finish. Best with beef and venison. 14% and Organic methods.

Familia Schroeder Saurus Pinot Noir 2019

These lands are magical - they hide astonishing mysteries! When construction began to build the winery a dinosaur was unearthed and in tribute to this 75million year giant, the name Saurus was given in tribute! This Pinot is deep red colour and floral with red fruits of raspberries, currants and strawberries on the nose. Mineral notes and hints of vanilla and cocoa from oak ageing. The palate is round and fruity with mild tannins, medium body and moderate acidity. Best paired with chicken dishes and pasta with tomato sauces. 14% and Vegan, Sustainable methods.

Chono Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018

Named after the indigenous Chono tribe, who were described by Darwin as ‘one of the bravest native tribes’, they were well known for having a passion for life and for nature. Chono wines are carefully selected, single vineyard varietals from some unique terroirs in Chile with the aim of producing wines which focus on quality over quantity. The influence of the Ocean provides perfect conditions for a fresh and aromatic Pinot Noir with great character. This wine shows an intense and fresh nose of red fruits, enriched with spicy notes. On the palate, it is medium bodied with notes of red cherries, sweet spices and a slight bitter chocolate note on the finish. A quality wine which goes well with moussaka or lasagne. 13.5% and Sustainable, Vegan.
