Producer: Geoff Merrill
Shiraz fanatic and flamboyant winemaker, Geoff Merrill has made this stunning McLaren Vale red. Dark and youthful in colour, the nose shows subtle toasty oak, moving to fruit aromas of spice and fresh berries. Rich and well structured on the palate with a savoury integrated oak to add complexity, this fantastic full bodied red delivers all the oomph of blockbuster Aussie reds but still with a refined finish and long lingering flavour. Domaine des Carabiniers Cotes du Rhone Sans Sulfite 2018

The name Carabiniers comes from when in the 14th century the region was guarded by Italian mounted guards - the Carabinieri. Magali and Fabien run the domaine today which was converted to organic viticulture in 1997 and then to biodynamic viticulture in 2009. They vinify with natural yeasts, without the use of chemicals or sulphur additions. Grapes are harvested at night to prevent oxidation and avoid the use of SO2 which keeps the freshness and protects the natural aromas of the grapes About as pure as wine can get, it is deep ruby in colour, the palate is elegant and well balanced with red fruits, spice notes and the softest of tannins. A true beauty! Best with grilled meats, mushroom risotto or cheeses. 12.5% and Biodynamic, Vegan.

Bodega Luigi Bosca Single Vineyard Malbec 2018

Coming from the Luján de Cuyo region of Mendoza where all of the grapes are hand-picked, the viticultural team apply biodynamic principles across the estate, though they do not hold certification. This Malbec is a deep and bright red violet wine with balanced aromas and red fruit and sweet spice. It is refreshing and voluptuous in the mouth, with fine and gentle tannins, while it is clean and expressive in the palate, with a strong character and a deep finish with soft smoked hues as a result of its ageing in oak barrels. It is a great exponent of the variety and the terroir and with good ageing potential. This is a cracking Malbec and can be enjoyed with most dishes coming off the BBQ. 14% and Vegan.
