Domaine des Carabiniers Cotes du Rhone Sans Sulfite 2018

The name Carabiniers comes from when in the 14th century the region was guarded by Italian mounted guards - the Carabinieri. Magali and Fabien run the domaine today which was converted to organic viticulture in 1997 and then to biodynamic viticulture in 2009. They vinify with natural yeasts, without the use of chemicals or sulphur additions. Grapes are harvested at night to prevent oxidation and avoid the use of SO2 which keeps the freshness and protects the natural aromas of the grapes About as pure as wine can get, it is deep ruby in colour, the palate is elegant and well balanced with red fruits, spice notes and the softest of tannins. A true beauty! Best with grilled meats, mushroom risotto or cheeses. 12.5% and Biodynamic, Vegan.

De Wetshof Estate Bon Vallon Chardonnay 2019

Danie de Wet pioneered this noble cultivar in South Africa and this Chardonnay is a fresh and expressive, unwooded version. The nose is delicate with aromas of lemon, honeysuckle blossom and peach. The wine was matured on its lees to produce a vibrant, lemony dry wine with a yeasty and delicate nutty finish. With typical attention to detail, Danie's wife Lesca has designed classic packaging for this distinctive wine. Fantastic as an aperitif or with Caesar salad, seared salmon or tuna. 13% and Sustainable methods.

Cedarberg Private Cellar Chenin Blanc 2020

A wild and remote terroir in South Africa, Cederberg climbs to over 1000 metres altitude above sea level and Cederberg Private Cellar is the only estate making wine here. The estate is surrounded by a very unique and dramatic landscape and conservation is fundamental at the farm and Cederberg is a committed member of the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative. As a result, the vines are by nature virtually organically grown. All the vines are located at very high altitude with only frost and baboons that are a threat – yes I did say Baboons! The Chenin grapes are rested on Sauvignon grape skins giving this wine some real power with beautiful grapefruit aromas leading to honey melon flavours on the palate with a smooth and pleasant creaminess. A top drawer wine enjoyed on its own or with shellfish, Indian curry or Mild cheeses. 13% and Organic methods, Vegetarian.
