Chono

Named after the indiginous Chono tribe, who were described by Darwin as ‘one of the bravest native tribes’, they were well known for having a passion for life and for nature. This passion was the inspiration behind Chono which is a project designed to showcase wines expressive of the region where they thrive the best. Created by Alvaro Espinoza in 2004, Chono wines are carefully selected, single vineyard varietals from some unique terroirs in Chile with the aim of producing wines which focus on quality over quantity. Exposed to the cool Pacific Ocean, the Leyda Valley is one of the coolest regions of Chile.. The vineyards yield intense aromatic dry Sauvignon Blanc.
