Gravel & Loam Sauvignon Blanc 2019

A Green Cellars best seller and for good reason! This NZ Sauvignon is superb. The French call it “Terroir” but we call it “Gravel and Loam”. Deep in the Wairau Valley, the vineyard is spread over two terraces - the upper 33 hectares are certified BioGro organic and the remaining terraces are sustainable. This wine is bright with lively gooseberry aromas alongside notes of fresh herbs and grassy tones. The palate is vibrant passion fruit, citrus and peach characters with top notes of melon and kiwi. Soft apple and white pear flavours balance a well-structured wine with zesty acidity and fantastic length and elegance. Enjoy as an aperitif or with fresh, simply cooked seafood and light salads. 12.5% and Vegan, Sustainable.

Pitchfork Shiraz 2018

Michael Kerrigan, a well know Australian winemaker, likens Margaret River's climate to "Bordeaux in a perfect year". This Pitchfork represents unprecedentedly good value considering that all of the grapes are grown in Margaret River - very unusual for a wine at the entry level from this region. This Shiraz is vibrant and youthful with ripe cherry and plum fruits on the nose, with smooth chocolaty influences. The palate displays good depth of fruit concentration, ripe sweet fruit fleshiness in the mid palate and a good flavour extension on the finish. Best with beef and venison. 14% and Organic methods.

Rickety Bridge Sauvignon Blanc 2019

The estate nestles against the slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains, close to the Franschhoek River that the old rickety bridge used to cross and is led by the young winemaker, Mari Kotze. This lovely Sauvignon is vibrant and zesty with aromas of gooseberry and passion fruit layered with subtle mineral tones. This wine is full flavoured with a rich palate which lingers on the finish. If you find NZ Sauvignons too fruity and French too dry, this is the wine for you. drink on its own or with seafood dishes such as sushi and summer salads. 13% and Sustainable methods.

La Bastide Des Oliviers Rose 2019

This small winery operates the vineyard as in the old days with old methods without pesticides nor chemical fertilisers. During the vinification, they try to stay as natural as possible by minimising all that is added, mainly sulphites, with little or no fining, ageing on fine lees, and only one filtration at bottling. This stunning rosé with a beautiful pink salmon colour. The nose is white fruits and dried apricots with good intensity. The palate has a fruity creaminess which is full, fresh and has a great mouthfeel. The finish is dreamy and goes on forever. Enjoy as an aperitif or with seafood. 13% and Organic.
