Atamisque Malbec 2017

Producer: Atamisque
The winery is located in Tupungato (Balcony to the stars) and this Malbec comes from low yielding, 90 year old vines and the wine spends 14 months in new French oak. This Malbec has a nose of violets and blackberries with a hint of tobacco. It has excellent concentration and is beautifully voluptuous with blackberry jam and plumbs. The tannins give great structure, balance and surprising smoothness. It is both Intense and elegant and needs to be on your bucket list because the juice in this bottle is genuinely insane. This was my Malbec of 2020 by far, and I had a few! Drink now or wait a potential 15 years. Enjoy with Steak or Lamb dishes. 14.5% and Vegan

The winery is located in Tupungato (Balcony to the stars) and when we visited there about 10 years ago we were shown around the man in charge, Jean-Edouard. During the tasting he mentioned their goal was to make the best chardonnay in the world. It was genuinely outstanding then and has since improved. It's beautifully delicate and slightly dreamy with white fruits and citrus on the nose and gentle honey and vanilla from the barrel ageing. The finish goes on forever and oozes elegance. Enjoy on its own or with roast chicken or pork. 14.5% and Vegan.
